May 2025
Hello lovelies!
Can you believe it’s almost June and winter is upon us here in the Southern Hemisphere?!
Those who have been with me from the beginning might recall me saying that I have no idea what my little business would grow and evolve into. There has been a lot of trial and error, particularly as far as products are concerned. Now jo daisY Art & Design has come home! After trialling overseas Print on Demand options, I’ve realised that what lights me up most is creating beautiful, tangible products right here in Australia. I’m so excited to finally settle on locally made paper goods, printed by phenomenal local printers, packed by me, and infused with that hand-to-heart feeling I’ve been chasing all along. I want to thank you for sticking with me on the journey and for the grace you have shown me as I explored all the options. I’m thrilled to bring you this next chapter full of joy, beauty and art you can hold!
Just Launched!! and also coming soon…
I’ve just launched my greeting card collection with twenty designs and around thirty more designs to come this year. I’ve also relaunched the Birth Flower Bookmark Collection. These are so pretty and much nicer than the metal version. Also a lot kinder to your books! And I love that the bookmarks and greeting cards are printed on 100% recycled paper! Fine Art prints will be launching in June! I’ve found the most sublime company to print for me on the most divine paper. The quality is stunning! Keep an eye out in June’s newsletter. To celebrate, one of my subscribers will win a mini Three Rose Buds Fine Art Print. It’s just gorgeous. And every single one of you, my lovely subscribers, will be entered into the draw on 20 June 2025! The winner be will announced in June’s newsletter. Also in the pipeline are gift wrap, notebooks, pillows and tea towels. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this new direction.
What I’m Working On…
I’m combining all things bright and beautiful with creatures great and small to create a collection of Teapots & Flowers. My plan is to go over the top with teapot designs from around the world featuring flowers, birds, butterflies and animals - all the things I love together! The collection will consist of traditional watercolours for art prints as well as Procreate watercolours for fun greeting cards.
I’m continuing to teach Procreate classes in my local area. It’s been wonderful to get to know new students. Someone mentioned they’d love to do the classes online. So that got me thinking…maybe others would too. If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, I’d love to hear from you. Simply send an email or message through the contacts page. Your interest will help me to decide whether to make this a priority.
Exciting news! I’ve been invited to chat about my art on our local radio station next week. I’ll share the details (and hopefully a link) in next month’s newsletter.
Congratulations!!!
Congratulations to Nat from Wodonga, who won the draw for the Mother’s Day Custom Birth Flower Pillow! It was a pleasure to design something so unique and personal for you! And thanks sharing the great pic! I love that so much!
This Month’s Free Download and Sharing Some Love.
This month’s free download is a set of Thank You tags; so cute with that hand-drawn feel! You can find them in the Gift Tag section in Jo’s Gift Garden.
This past year, I’ve been so grateful for the support and opportunities I’ve received from others, especially from my husband and children! That generosity has made a real difference to me and now I’d love to pay it forward by introducing you to two wonderful creatives; a talented young artist creating greeting cards and a gifted doll maker. Jesse is a young local artist whose work I really admire. He started drawing with coloured pencils at just fourteen years old and is now selling his own range of greeting cards - all while still in high school! His work is full of incredible detail. It’s so inspiring to see someone so young already building a creative business. You can find his work here: https://readersemporium.com.au/c/jaks-cards Let’s cheer him on!
I also met a young lady from Belarus who makes traditional Motanka Dolls full of charm and character. If that’s something you’re interested in, you can email her at hutka@outlook.com.au.
Invitation (some thoughts on life and faith)
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT) Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.
In my experience this is so true! My tendency is to run ahead with something because it seems obvious or sounds good. The times when I prayerfully considered my options have yielded much better results. It has been true for my family life as well as for business. More and more I’m leaning into it.
Well, that’s it for May. Thank you again for sharing this journey with me. As always, please share this newsletter with those who might enjoy the content, the freebies or a chance to win the Three Rose Buds Print! And don’t forget to follow me on Instagram @jodaisyart.
Wishing you a joyful June.
With joy and beauty,
Joxxx
