Poppies Greeting Cards Set of Three
Hello Lovelies
As I write, it’s a sunny winter’s day here in Gippsland, Australia. I almost enjoy sunny winter days more than hot summer days. I guess because they are an unexpected blessing during the cold months and I am truly grateful for the warmth. Sunshine makes one feel like anything is possible!
This month’s newsletter is very short and sweet.
Congratulations!
Congratulations to my students who completed the Procreate for Beginners Course! And like the sunny winter’s day, this was one of those unexpected blessings, because not only was it wonderful to make new connections with these lovely ladies, but seeing the artworks that they are producing on their own is inspiring. Some are already artists in their own right and to witness how their own unique work and style translates to a digital medium is really exciting! We now have a lovely group of gals who will be meeting on occasion for a cuppa to show & tell. I’m so looking forward to seeing everyone’s work (and play 😁) at the first of these catch ups. Our Procreate for Intermediates course will begin in mid October.
If your email address begins with ‘walk the line’, please contact me since you are the winner of the Three Roses mini print from last month’s draw.
What’s New?
I’m not sure about you, but I often used to find myself rummaging for a card at the last minute to give to someone, only to find I needed to drive back into town (which is a 20 minute drive for me now) in order to buy one, or forgo giving one since I couldn’t get to the shops. Total pain! And so sad, because hand-written greeting cards are super special! I love having sets of greeting cards on hand so that I can easily grab one in case of that impromptu gratitude sentiment or birthday cuppa that I’ve been invited to. Which is why I’ve curated a few greeting card sets for you. You will still have the option to create your own set of three or four form the “You Choose” sets by adding your chosen designs at checkout. Either way, you’ll enjoy the convenience of having greeting cards on hand, while saving time and money!
The sets themselves make a beautiful gift for all lovers of flowers and nature. I’ve designed many of them to be more than greeting cards. They’re frame worthy mini fine art prints! So instead of being tucked away in a drawer or keepsake box, the framed version could be displayed and enjoyed every day.
Speaking of prints, a reminder that until the end of August, I’m giving you 15% discount on any purchase as part of the Fine Art Prints Launch.
New in the Birth Flower Collection
I’ve designed some sweet patterns for the backs of the Birth Flower Bookmarks. These turned out so pretty! I love them! Greeting cards have also joined the Birth Flower Collection. I’m happy that you can now see all the detail that went into these paintings because of the larger format. Again, I kept them simple so that they could be framed. An idea is to collect the birth flowers of everyone in your family and frame them together or as a set.
What I’m Working On…
I have been painting. The Lilies with Coffee Pot are still in progress, while I’ve also been painting in preparation for my watercolour workshop and course. It takes a different headspace to break down what one does almost instinctively into a coherent process which others can follow. But it’s been really good for me too to understand how I paint. I’m looking forward to teaching these classes.
Invitation (some thoughts on life and faith)
“When you get to the end of all the light that you know and it’s time to step into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things will happen: either you will be given something solid to stand on or you will be taught how to fly.” Edward Teller
As mentioned in the February newsletter, our family was hit with some news that kind of rocked us. We have been walking day by day experiencing God’s faithfulness and provision. We have now officially arrived at the end of the light that we knew and are stepping into darkness waiting to see what’s next; solid ground or learning to fly? Once we receive the breakthrough I will share a little of our journey. For now, I hope this quote by Edward Teller will encourage you in yours.
Have an awesome August!
With joy and beauty,
Jo xxx
